Will I have direct access to the team throughout the building process?
Yes. Hepler Homes is dedicated to being there every step of the way to ensure that your new home is everything you wanted. The team visits your home site often and is familiar with every detail of the process. The entire Hepler Homes team is available via the CoConstruct App.
And with our online communication system, the process of building your forever home can be more enjoyable. We provide easy access so you can see pictures, financial information, and notifications when major progress has been made.
What should I expect in a first meeting?
Your first meeting with the Hepler Homes team will be spent discussing your dream home visions, plan ideas, the feasibility of building on your lot, financing options, timelines, and the building process. You may already have a blueprint, some initial ideas or can select from our existing plans. Hepler Homes will use these visions to determine the feasibility of your dream home plan compared to what your budget allows.
How can I best describe my expectations and vision for a home?
A picture tells a thousand words, so the best preparation in communicating your vision to us with as many pictures and ideas. The Hepler Homes website is a great place to start. Additionally, friends and acquaintances that have been through the building process can provide personal stories about their experience. These stories will allow you to gauge your expectations and communicate them to Hepler Homes by means of questions.
How often should I visit the construction site?
Hepler Homes is very flexible in allowing you to be as involved as you wish to. Throughout the home building process, there will be scheduled meetings with you at the site. During these meetings you will refine the requirements of such things as electrical, plumbing, and kitchen. These are great opportunities to discuss any questions that you have and bring up any specific detail that has not been discussed already. Be aware that construction sites are dangerous places, especially for children. If you have other changes or questions about the construction and changes, this is communicated through the CoConstruct app.
How much time is required of me during the building process?
In addition to visits or occasional walk-throughs at the site, a great deal of time can be spent in choosing the finishing selections of the home. This is the personality of your new home and you have to live with your decisions. There are many selections that go into the construction of a new home, and each selection must be clearly specified and understood by all parties. How do I request a change or alteration during the building process?
You may first ask, what constitutes a change or alteration. Any change from the original specifications require a change order, even if there is no cost or time difference. A change does not always occur after you see something you don’t prefer in your home; it may be something that will be taking place in the next week or so of the project. If there is ever a change that you wish to see made in the home, simply submit the change through the CoConstruct online portal.
Does Hepler Homes require that we use specific suppliers?
The short answer is no. Hepler Homes will be happy to make recommendations, but does not require that you use specific vendors for such things as kitchen appliances, lighting fixtures, and plumbing fixtures.
Hepler Homes uses some of the best people and has long-standing relationships with them; we are confident in the products, which is why they are recommended to you.

I don’t have land yet, can you still build for me?
Yes, check the House Lots page, where you can choose an available lot for yourself or contact the team to help with that process.
Why don’t we give firm pricing immediately?
Custom homes are complex, to the point where we have never completed 2 homes that have cost the same, as depending on your preferences in material, square footage, and design choices can affect how much your custom home will cost. The team is more than happy to discuss pricing further if you schedule a consultation with us.
Why should I go with you, if there are cheaper options?
Because the process, the communication, and the craftsmanship are the best in the area. By going with a cheaper homebuilder, you are just giving yourself more stress, less transparency, and a finished product that is not completely to your liking.
